Cops nab criminal on the run since September
Pune: The Bhosari MIDC police on Friday arrested a criminal on police records who had been on the run since September 15 after opening fire on another criminal near Sadhu Vaswani Garden in Pimpri.
Rahul Vishwakarma (21) and his accomplices had assaulted and shot Santosh Ashok Kurawat (33), a criminal on police records, on September 15 following an old rivalry.

Vishwakarma and his accomplices had fired nearly four rounds towards Kurawat. One bullet whizzed past his head, while another had hit his leg.
The shooter had abandoned the weapon at the spot before fleeing. Police had later recovered the pistol and two choppers from the spot.
Constable Pranil Chougule had received a tip-off that Vishwakarma would be coming to Gawlimatha in Bhosari. “Accordingly, a trap was laid and Vishwakarma was taken in custody. We have recovered a sharp weapon from him,” Rajendra Vibhandik of the Bhosari MIDC police said.
Vibhandik said Vishwakarma has four cases registered against him with Dehu Road and and the Pimpri police. Sub-inspector Ravsaheb Bamble is probing the case.
