The comedian's team took to his social media handle and said, "After the show, he (More) stayed back to meet fans and take selfies. Once the crowd cleared, a group of 11-12 men, disguised as fans, approached him. They attacked him... The leader of the gang made it clear that they wanted to silence More for cracking jokes on Bollywood debutant Pahariya."

Following the post, Pahariya took to social media and said, "I am truly shocked and saddened by what happened to comedian More. I want to make it absolutely clear, I had no involvement in this and I strongly condemn any form of violence...To the comedian and his fans, I am deeply sorry that this happened. No one deserves this. I will personally ensure that whoever was responsible is held accountable."

Based on a complaint lodged by the owner of the restaurant where the incident unfolded, an FIR was registered at Sadar Bazar police station in Solapur. Senior inspector Ajit Lakde told TOI, "More has not yet approached us with any complaint. However, based on the complaint application of the restaurant owner where the incident took place, we have registered a case against 10-12 people."
