City shops caught stealing power

pune: the vigilance squad of the maharashtra state electricity board recently exposed 20 cases of power thefts worth rs 66 lakh in the state, with pune accounting for 12 thefts to the tune of approximately rs 27 lakh. a statement released by the mseb said power thefts detected in the city include a shop owned by nilesh mehta (m.g. road) which indulged in theft worth rs 5.97 lakh,yes investment pvt ltd,m.g.road (rs 5 lakh), vijaykumar mehta, m.g. road (rs 4.98 lakh), hasan mashalla ali jaffery, pune camp (rs 4.74 lakh), shakuntala mehta's two establishments in amba complex, m.g. road (rs 2.94 lakh), united colours of benetton, m.g. road (rs 2.11 lakh), shivaji gurulingappa, bhosari (rs 2.43 lakh), kohinoor restaurant, m.g. road (rs 70,236), vijay chaudhari, raviwar peth (rs 61,721) and m/s ashkan readymades, shivajinagar (rs 44,500).
