Chate School hosts investiture ceremony for 2018-19

The investiture ceremony of Chate School for the academic year of 2018-19 was held recently. The newly-elected council was awarded with badges and sashes and the administration of oath which symbolizes their responsibilities. The chief guest of the event was Colonel Sanjay Puranik. The student council election was conducted earlier, where the members were selected by a secret voting process. The school president, vice-president, cultural minister, sports minister, captains and vice-captains of the four houses form the council. The students Salma Shaikh and Sneha Pawar anchored the event while Zishan Khan proposed a vote of thanks.

The investiture ceremony of Chate School for the academic session 2018-19 was held with great enthusiasm recently, a release said. The award of badges and sashes and administration of Oath that symbolize the responsibilities for newly- elected Council was done in presence of chief guest Clonel Sanjay Puranik, an official release said. Earlier, student Council election was conducted and members were elected by secret voting process. School president, vice-president, cultural minister, sport minister, captains and vice captains of four Houses formed the council. Student Salma Shaikh and Sneha Pawar anchored the investiture ceremony while Zishan Khan proposed a vote of thanks.

MIT faculty and students get international certification

Four faculty members and five students from MIT here were certified in open source Linux operating system from the US based Red Hat Inc. The faculty members were Daivshala Deshmukh, Prashant Khosre, Pramod Suryawanshi and Ravindra Patil and the students were Onkar Devlankar, Gayatri Badve, Sneha Gawali, Kamini Nikam, and Apurva Wakle. The full day training and hands-on experience on live server was given by B N Kshirsagar. Red Hat Inc. and MIT have been jointly rendering international training and certification since 2006 .

V L Dharurkar appointed as VC of Tripura University

V L Dharurkar, a retired senior faculty from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University was recently appointed as the vice-chancellor of Tripura University. Dharurkar, who hails from Osmanabad district, started his teaching career in Nashik in the mid-1970s as a history lecturer. Then he moved to the department of Journalism at Shivaji University, Kolhapur as lecturer before joining the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in the early 1980s. Dharurkar, who served as an UGC Emeritus Professor has published 27 books in Marathi and five in English and has nearly 181 research papers to his credit.
