On Sunday, all roads led to The Westin Pune, Koregaon Park. The Times Food and Nightlife Awards 2017, the annual Food Oscars of the city, that was held at the plush hotel, witnessed glitz, glam and of course good food. Pune’s swish set, actors, artists, bureaucrats and social butterflies came in large numbers to raise a toast to good food. The chief guest of the evening, actress
Sunny Leone, unveiled the Times Food Guide 2017, that has been anchored by Kala Raju.
One might think that the glam and svelte Sunny must be giving up on a lot of temptations to stay fit. However, Sunny amazed all, when she quipped, “I crave for sev puri and other street foods of Mumbai. Though I am not allowed to eat it, I eat them almost every day.”
Kala spoke about “the importance of good food in our daily grinds.” She also congratulated the restaurateurs who have been dishing out such good food in the city on a regular basis. Later, actor and singer Anuj Gurwara took centre-stage with his signature style wit and humour in place and made sure guests were glued to their seats till the end. The event was sponsored in association with Funzz flavoured milk, a brand by Govind Milk & Milk Products.
Spread across 45 categories and 62 awards in casual and fine dining, the night celebrated good food. Nishant Agarwal, GM of The Westin Pune, Koregaon Park, said, “It was a pleasure hosting the Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2017 this year. We were elated to see everyone from the food fraternity come together to celebrate and enjoy this beautiful evening. It was a matter of great pride and honour to receive all the recognition on behalf of The Westin Pune Koregaon Park.” Everyone in the audience cheered as their favourites in the diverse categories — which featured everything from Best Maharashtrian and Best Coastal, to Best Bars and Best Mixologists — were honoured for their achievements.
