‘CAs influence GST collection in the country’
Pune: A national conference on Goods and Services Tax (GST) — Way Forward — was organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and held at MIT's Swami Vivekananda auditorium in Kothrud recently. Commissioner of Central GST, Rajiv Kapur, national vice-president of ICAI, Atul Gupta, member of central council of ICAI, CV Chtale, president of Pune chapter, Ruta Chitale, among other experts were present for this conference.
Chartered accountants (CAs) are engaged in providing important services due to which GST collection has been increased substantially, said principal chief commissioner of CGST, Krishna Mishra.
The experts spoke about how GST was introduced for the convenience of common people and there was room for reforms in it. Mishra said the GST council was consistently working on changing it into simple tax.
