The Faraskhana police have arrested a burglar on police records and seized gold ornaments and two digital cameras totally worth Rs 1.70 lakh.

PUNE: The Faraskhana police have arrested a burglar on police records and seized gold ornaments and two digital cameras totally worth Rs 1.70 lakh.
The police have identified the suspect as Shashikant Anant Mane (18) a resident of Chinchwad. The Faraskhana police team led by senior inspector Bhanupratap Barge made the arrest.
Barge told TOI that police constable Naresh Balsane had received a tip-off that one person was preparing to sell digital cameras in the market in Budhwar Peth.

"We laid a trap and nabbed the suspect Mane from Budhwar Peth area," Barge said.
During sustained interrogation, Mane admitted his involvement in house break-in thefts in Hadapsar area around 15 days ago. "He had stolen gold ornaments and two digital cameras from Hadapsar area," Barge said.
Barge said that the police have recovered 40 gms gold ornaments worth Rs 1.30 lakh from the suspect Mane.
Barge said that Mane also revealed that he had stolen a motor-cycle from Vimannagar area. "We have recovered the motorcycle too," Barge added.
Barge said that Mane has cases of burglaries registered against him. The investigating team comprised assistant inspector Geeta Bagawade, police constables Iqbal Shaikh, Sikandar Jamadar, Digambar Natu, Dnyaneshwar Deokar, Sagar Kekan and Kisan Vadekar.
