PUNE: With the arrest of a known criminal, the Dattawadi police on Sunday claimed to have solved two house break-in cases.
The police also recovered a gold chain and cash, together worth Rs 1.31 lakh, from Kailas Sudam Mane (45) of Dighi, who was arrested in Sahakarnagar by a police team, led by senior police inspector Vijaysinh Gaikwad of the Dattawadi police station.
The police say Mane has admitted to committing two burglaries this month.
According to Gaikwad, Mane had been released from Yerawada central prison some months ago, after he served three year prison term for a burglary offence.
Mane would allegedly pose as a jawan in order to conduct recces of places he intended to burgle. "He was involved in several burglaries in the jurisdiction of the Wanowrie and Khadki police stations," sub-inspector Sachin Kamble said.
Mane was produced before court on Saturday and remanded to police custody till March 3.
