PUNE: Some unidentified persons broke into three houses in Supa village in Baramati taluka and made away with the booty worth Rs 5.14 lakh recently.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged by Santosh Lalasaheb Jadhav (36) of Mal Ali, Supa in Baramati taluka witht the Vadgaon Nimbalkar police station. The suspects also broke into the houses of Madhukar Dhobale and Pravin Hirve in the same locality, police said.
S H Shinde, assistant inspector of the Vadgaon Nimbalkar police station said that the incident happened during the wee hours of Sunday, when Jadhav, Dhobale and Hirve families had gone out. “The suspects broke the locks of the three houses and made away with booty,” Shinde said.
Shinde said that the suspects stole cash of Rs 40,000 and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.85 lakh totally worth Rs 3.25 lakh from Jadhav’s house. The suspects made away with cash of Rs 12,000 and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.57 lakh totally worth Rs 1.69 lakh from Dhobale’s house. “The suspects stole gold ornaments worth Rs 20,000 from Hirve’s house,” Shinde said.
The incident came into light on Sunday morning, when the three families returned back to their houses. “We have registered an offence in this regard,” Shinde said.
