Bike-borne duo snatch purse from woman in Kalyaninagar

Pune: Two men on a bike snatched the purse of a graphic designer, who was walking near the Ad Labs Chowk in Kalyaninagar in the early hours of Monday.
The victim, Geetanjali Singh (28), hails from Lucknow and is currently residing at Chandannagar. She works with a private firm in Baner.
“The woman and her friend had dinner at an eatery in Kalyaninagar and were walking down to the chowk around 1.45am on Monday, when the duo came from behind.The pillion rider snatched her purse containing cash, a cell phone, and her Aadhaar, PAN and voters ID cards, among other items,” said sub inspector Ankush Dombale of the Yerawada police on Tuesday.
The woman raised an alarm, but in vain as the duo sped away towards Chandannagar.
Dombale said, “Later on Monday, the complainant told the police that the two men were in the age group of 20-22 years and were both wearing raincoats. She was unable to note down their bike’s registration number as it was dark and raining heavily at the time.”
He added, “CCTV footage has captured images of the duo, but the vehicle registration number is not visible. We are analysing footage from various places to establish the route used by the suspects before and after the crime to determine their identity and arrest them as soon as possible.”
