Pune theatre group's play 'Bhanwar' invited to Bulgaria

Our favourite watchman Bhanwar Singh is on his way to Bulgaria.

Bhanwar, the play that tells the tale of the eponymous Bhanwar Singh, has been invited to the 17th edition of the International Youth Theatre Festival VREME 2017, which will take place in Bulgaria in June.

While Virajas says that the team is super excited about the invite, Shivraj mentions that it would not have been possible without the help of veteran theatre and film actress Jyoti Subhash, Sachin Gadve and Sameer Gadve of Kaka Halvai Sweets, and Mangesh Bhide.

The play has already managed to garner popularity as well as accolades, and had swept off all major awards at Thespo in Mumbai last year. Here’s hoping the play brings many more such laurels to the city in the future.

As a fundraiser for their Bulgaria visit, the group will stage the play at Bharat Natya Mandir on June 3 at 7 pm.
