Basanta Utsav held in city after 2 years
Pune: Bangiya Sanskriti Samsad recently celebrated Basanta Utsav in the city, after a two year break due to the pandemic. The celebrations feature songs and writings from Rabindranath Tagore.This was the 18th edition of the festival held at Empress Gardens, and the enthusiasm was high with live singing and dancing by participants from across the city. The program included renditions of Tagore’s works such as his composition, “Ore Griho Bashi” by the combined troupes of cultural associations from Pune and “Ami Tomari matiro kanya”, which was a solo dance recital; Brikhho Ropon or planting of saplings- signifying life and hope amidst chanting of. Guest artist from Kolkata, Manoj Murali Nair also performed as part of the festival.
