Pune: Stuti Trivedi, a first-year acting student at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), has received this year’s Bachchan Patra scholarship, which carries an award of Rs50,000.
Trivedi received the award from Benjamin Gilani, the acting department mentor at FTII, and Bhupendra Kainthola, the institute director.
The award was instituted by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, whose wife and actress Jaya is an FTII alumna from the 1970 batch.
Trivedi, who is from Pune, joined the FTII in August this year after completing a BA degree from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai. The Bachchan Patra scholarship is presented every year to a student who tops the FTII entrance exam in the acting stream.
