SATARA: Families of police personnel from Satara district, who died during the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, said on Tuesday that terrorist Ajmal Kasab should be given the death sentence without any delay.
The special court is expected to award the punishment to Kasab on Thursday.
Tara Ombale, wife of Tukaran Ombale who was instrumental in nabbing Kasab, told the TOI that, "The court must award death sentence to Kasab and it should be implemented immediately.
Only then we will feel that we have got true justice." Ombales hail from village Kedambe in Javali taluka.
Banubai Dhurgude, mother of slain sub-inspector Bapurao Dhurgude who hailed from Bhuinj in Wai taluka, said that, "By coming to our country and killing innocent people, Kasab has proved his cruelty and only a stern punishment will ensure that no more Kasabs tread the same path. I request the court, not as the mother of Bapurao but as mother of all the martyrs who laid their lives for the country, that stern punishment be given to Kasab," Banubai said.
Martyr Ambadas Pawar's mother Kamal told the TOI that strict punishment be meted out to Kasab if the court wanted to give justice to the families of those who were killed during the terror attacks.
"Ambadas was not even on duty, yet he fought against the terrorists with a simple rifle usually used by the railway police, till his last breath. He was my support during old age and the person who killed my son must be given death sentence."
