Aurangabad: Woman, son stabbed to death for objecting to defecation on farm

A woman and her son were stabbed to death, while her husband and another relative were severely injured for objecting to a group of people allegedly defecating on their farm at a village nearly 120km from the city.

AURANGABAD: A woman and her son were stabbed to death, while her husband and another relative were severely injured for objecting to a group of people allegedly defecating on their farm at a village nearly 120km from the city.
The deceased have been identified as Sumanbai Sillode (55), and her 25-year-old son Mangesh. Sumanbai's husband, Devilal Sillode, and relative, Yogesh, are admitted to the Jalna civil hospital.

The incident took place late on Friday night at Aerandwadgaon village in the Sevli area. On learning about the incident, senior police officers went to the village and took charge of the situation.
By Saturday morning, five of the accused had been arrested. The police also sent out teams to nab the other five co-accused. The police identified the five arrested as Sheetal Shinde, Chakuli Shinde, Ranjana Pawar, Surekha Shinde and Tukaram Shinde.
Jalna superintendent of police Akshay Shinde said some of the accused had criminal antecedents.
