PUNE: Pune based NGO Aranyavaak will conduct a heritage course on 'ancient monuments, sculptures and history' in the city from January 2 to 31, 2013.
The organizers said the idea of the course is to popularize the fascinating aspects of India's rich heritage - ancient monuments, sculpture and history. This will help in connecting as many heritage enthusiasts as possible and convert this trend of understanding the heritage and incorporating its values into a countrywide revolution.

This is the 8th consecutive year of the course.
The topics covered includes historical timeline of India, Indus civilization, the Aryans, archaeology, ancient coins and coinage, Brahmi script and inscriptions, cave and temple architecture, sculptures and icons, ancient art, modi script and medieval history, fort architecture, ancient literature, religion and philosophy. There will be outings with experts for more knowledge on heritage.
The experts includes MK Dhavalikar, GB Deglurkar, Sharad Rajguru, Pramod Joglekar, Sucheta Paranjape, Ninad Bedekar, PK Ghanekar, Kiran Kalamdani, Shrikant Pradhan, Mandar Lavate and many other experts in their respective fields. The timings for the lectures are between 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm from Wednesday to Saturday. The outings will be held on weekends. The medium will be Marathi, the organizers said.
