PUNE: Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, commandant of the National Defence Academy (NDA), urged naval officers to adopt cutting-edge technologies in armament to achieve a high degree of indigenization.

He delivered an address at the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) valedictory function as the chief guest. A batch of 15 officers of the Indian Navy graduated from the institute after successfully completing the Naval Technical Staff Course (NTSC).

The course is an ab initio for the Naval Armament Inspection Cadre (NAIC) officers. The chief guest felicitated graduating officers and awarded meritorious students.

Lieutenant Sriponmalar P and Lt Priya Nandal were awarded first and second position in merit respectively.
The best all-rounder was awarded to Lt Neelam Rana and the best dissertation for the course was awarded to Lt Sakshi Solanki and Lt Mohammad Arif Khan.

Lt Jasmine was also felicitated for her outstanding contribution towards various MILIT activities.
