Abhisheki festival from October 26

Pune: Eminent artists Shashwati Mandal, Partha Bose and N Rajam and others will perform at the 14th edition of the Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki Mahotsav on October 26, 27 and 28 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha in Kothrud. The festival is free for all.

Abhisheki is among the stalwarts of Hindustani classical music who also mastered other musical forms such as the thumri, tappa, bhajan, and bhavgeet. His work in Marathi natyasangeet is well-known.

Aapla Parisar and Tarangini Sanskrutik Pratishthan organise the event as a tribute to Abhisheki.

The highlight is a 'melodic rhythm' event by Vijay Ghate with Sridhar Parthasarathy, Milind Kulkarni, Sheetal Kolvalkar and Nagesh Adgaonkar.

A light musical programme featuring Priyanka Barve, Savani Ravindra, Hrishikesh Ranade and Aniruddha Joshi. The finale will feature renowned violinist N Rajam.
