A six-storeyed illuminated Bhagyodaya Raj Prasad, a palace built by sculptor Vivek Khatavkar, is Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust's tableau this year.
This fictional palace, made from fibre glass and wood, was born from Khatavkar's imagination. It is 100-ft long, 50-ft wide and 95 ft tall. There are 350 pillars, 32 spires and 90 windows.
A peacock throne has been created for the idol, Khatavkar said.
Each floor has different coloured lights. Rajasthani paintings, three big and six small chandeliers add to the display. Seventy artistes comprising 35 carpenters, 22 fibre glass moulders and 12 painters began work on the palace on June 1.
