All the three films have been selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section of the IFFI, scheduled to be held from November 22 to December 2 at Panjim.
These short fiction films will try to show the innovative themes and novel approaches in cinematic techniques applied by the students.
Motorbike' is a 18.30 minute-long film in dolby surround sound and widescreen format. It is the story of dreams and their resilience, about an impulsive, rebellious girl at odds with her middle-class background. It's her journey of getting back to driving her father's old motorbike which she took without his permission and without a licence, thereby wrecked it.
Surang' is a 10.40 minute duration film based on a dialogue exercise. It depicts two convicts who have escaped the prison through a tunnel. As their fool-proof plan hits an unexpected roadblock, the jailor and his cronies deal with the mishap in a true bureaucratic fashion.
Shyam Raat Seher,' a 23-minute film made in dolby digital sound, is a sensitive portrayal of a middle-aged actor trying to revive his fading television career by playing Lord Krishna in a pseudo-experimental play.
