Three auto drivers arrested for robbing man in Pune

PUNE: Three autorickshaw drivers were arrested on Sunday for assaulting and robbing a 34-year-old businessman of his gold chain worth Rs35,000 near the Yevalewadi arch in the Kondhwa area.

Police identified the suspects as Vishal Var (27), Umesh Kangude (21) and Akshay Palkar (21) — all residents of Ambegaon Pathar. Their accomplice is on the run, the police said.

Sushilkumar Singh (34) of Kondhwa lodged a complaint with the police. Singh sustained injuries on his face in the assault, the police said.
