PUNE: Leena Thawani has bagged the Monash University International Merit Scholarship of Australian $40,000, applicable for four years.
Leena, a 16-year-old diploma programme student at Victorious Kidss Educares (VKE), was offered the scholarship by Monash University in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements. She is to take up the bachelor of computer science course at the varsity.

Additionally, she received an international study grant amounting to AUD 8,000.
Leena said, “The learning environment at VKE and the encouragement offered through its multiple facilities helped me reach this stage. I am happy that this scholarship shall place me in a university renowned for producing impactful research and also highly skilled graduates.”
Rated by business leaders as the best university in Australia to recruit graduates, Leena would now have the opportunity to utilize her potential and make a difference through her exceptional talent, skills and leadership qualities.
VKS president Robbin Ghosh said Leena had always been a focused and diligent student. “It was through dedication and hard work that she was able to acquire the desired prerequisites for bagging such a prestigious scholarship. In addition to her own effort and merit, she was guided by the VKE counselling team,” he said.
Students at VKE are encouraged to carve a niche and establish themselves as role model entrepreneurs through early career guidance opportunities provided by the school’s counselling department to enhance their future opportunities.
