PUDUCHERRY: United India Insurance Company, Puducherry regional office has sponsored a smart classroom at a cost of Rs 1.6 lakh to Pavendhar Bharathidasan government primary school in Koonuchampet as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The company’s chief regional manager M Muthukrishnan dedicated the smart classroom facility in the school in the presence of deputy inspector of schools M G Robert Kennedy and divisional manager R Killi Valavan in a simple function.
Speaking on the occasion Muthukrishnan outlined the CSR initiatives undertaken by the company in recent times.
The company manager T Ramalingam gave a presentation on the importance of availing insurance and outlined its benefits.
Established in 1938, the company was nationalized in 1972. Presently it has 1,340 offices providing insurance cover to more than one crore policyholders through more than 18,000 staff members in the country.
The company has also its presence in more than 200 tier two and three towns and villages through its innovative micro offices.
