Summer holidays begin in Puducherry schools two days early after heatwave advisory

PUDUCHERRY: The higher secondary wing of the directorate of school education declared summer holidays for government, government-aided and private schools, including schools following the CBSE syllabus, in the Union territory of Puducherry from April 29.

Originally the summer holidays were to start on May 1. The holidays were advanced after the directorate of health and family welfare services issued a public health advisory for extreme heat/ heatwave in the territory.

The schools will reopen on June 6.
