South Indian cuisine to be part of Hyderabad convention

More than 600 hoteliers and restaurateurs from southern states in the country will be participating in a convention to be organised by the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (Sihra) from July 2 to 4 in Hyderabad.

PUDUCHERRY: More than 600 hoteliers and restaurateurs from southern states in the country will be participating in a convention to be organised by the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (Sihra) from July 2 to 4 in Hyderabad.
The convention 'Redefining hospitality and monetizing tourism' will serve as a platform for the hoteliers to discuss the trends and opportunities in the hospitality sector.

It will focus on changing technology and human resource management along with other emerging concepts in food and beverages.
Eminent speakers from the industry will hold discussions in a series of disciplines including, online business- impact of technology in the hospitality industry, role of travel and trade, new concept-based restaurants, human resources practices in hospitality, cost cutting, branding budget hotels and franchise, among others. The convention includes a special session with members of the department of tourism both at regional and national level. There will be a trade show on the sidelines of the convention where leading suppliers and organisations will showcase their products and services.
"The convention is a step to further to enhance the bonding amongst the South India hospitality players and identify opportunities to enhance trade in the region. South India offers strategic advantages in hospitality sector. It is an opportunity to identify areas for knowledge sharing and trade development and focus on growth and development," organising committee chairman (Sihra) D V S Somaraju said.
