Puducherry LG Kiran Bedi catches men easing on beach, tweets video
PUDUCHERRY: Lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi caught two men easing themselves on the beach and questioned them for their indecent act and why they did not use a public toilet, which is just a few meters away on the beach road. When one of them apologised, Bedi asked another one to apologise with folded hands.
She posted the video on her Twitter account. The video, which garnered more than 30,000 views, was retweeted by more than 790 users. It invited more than 281 comments and attracted 3,100 likes.
Bedi, who was on the morning walk on the beach road on Thursday, found a man easing himself on the beach. “Look this man is easing himself. There is a restroom right across,” she said in the video. She stopped the man, who attempted to leave the place in a hurry after the act and questioned him why he did not use the restroom nearby to ease himself.

“There is a toilet there. Why did you not go there? Why have you not gone there to ease yourself? Why? Explain,” she asked. The man apologised, “Sorry. Is it enough?" she said.
She also caught hold of another man, who eased himself in a public place and demanded an apology from him. “You use the beach as a toilet. Why did you do it, sir? There is a toilet right there,” she questioned.
When the man said sorry, she insisted him to apologies with folded hands.
“While Crores (of rupees) were spent into reconstructing the beach, litterers litter/soil it. People don’t care to walk a bit to ease themselves. When will we change? See what happened when my morning walk, turned into two hours of cleaning and catching people in the ACT!!,” Bedi tweeted after posting the video of a man easing in on the beach.
Bedi also found piles of garbage and plastic waste materials littered on the beach. She immediately called the authorities concerned and procured gloves, bags and bins and started cleaning the beach along with the staff members of the Raj Nivas. A few municipal sanitary workers, lifeguards and police and community volunteers joined her. It took three hours to clean up the entire newly-formed beach and the rocks.
