Postal services
will continue to be relevant in the times to come, contrary to the perception of it is being outdated due to the growth of digital technology, former
West Bengal
Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi Friday said.
Post offices have been centres of connectivity between the government and the people, Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, said inaugurating a three-day philatelic exhibition- 'Gandhipex 2019' here, to mark the celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.
He recalled how Gandhiji used to write letters even from the prison during the freedom struggle. He said several people were of the view that the postal department was on the way out owing to growth of digital communication facilities.
"This is not correct as postal services would continue to be in step with the times and render services in tandem with the new technology," Gopalkrishna Gandhi said.
