Pondicherry University, Frankfurt University sign pact for collaborative academic, research activities

PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry University’s School of Law and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FUAS), Germany, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to undertake joint academic and research activities.

The MoU would enable the exchange of students as well as faculty members from the fields of law, management and social work. Germany is among India’s most important partners both bilaterally and in the global context.

The MoU was conceptualized when Yvonne Ziegler and Philipp Muller from FUAS visited Pondicherry University and interacted with the teaching faculty members last year. Subsequently, FUAS deputy director Juliane Reinhardt Max and students’ coordinator Ruth Conrads fine-tuned the collaboration by defining the broad parameters and obtaining the necessary approvals.

Internationalization has remained the key thrust area for Pondicherry University, and the MoU is largely seen as an important milestone in this regard.

Dean (school of law) Victor Anandkumar and head (school of law) Gurminder Kaur handed over the copy of the MoU to vice-chancellor (in-charge) K Tharanikkarasu, according to a release from Pondicherry University.
