Music video of anthem by Baul artists to be released on Aug 14

Puducherry: Just Studio, a film production company based in Kolkata, will launch a music

video

rendering the National Anthem with elements of folk from rural India to commemorate the 73rd Independence Day in the Union territory of Puducherry.

Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi will launch the

music

video in the presence of Just Studio founder actor-producer Suchandra Vaaniya and others at 5pm on

August 14

at Raj Nivas.

Bauls, folk singers from Bengal, rendered the National Anthem supported by indigenous instruments from Indian folk culture.

It is an attempt by the production company to showcase talent and diversity in the rural regions of the country. “We are from the land of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore whose creations highlighted and empowered the folk culture of Bengal and the rest of India as well as the world. This year, to celebrate the true spirit of India, we will

release

a new version of the National Anthem. Bauls will render the National Anthem accompanied by the indigenous instruments from Indian folk culture,” said Just Studio principal advisor Dipankar Roy.

Pratik Das conceived and directed the video, Abhijit Acharya arranged the music, while

Baul

artists Raju Das Baul and Rina Das Baul have rendered their voice.
