‘Jonaki’ film selected for Mumbai festival

PUDUCHERRY: A Bengali feature film titled, 'Jonaki' produced by a Puducherry-based production house, 'Magic Hour Films' in association with ‘Catherine Dussart Productions’ and ‘For Films’ and directed by the national award-winning director Aditya was selected for the India Gold competition section of the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival to be held between October 25 and November 1.

Jonaki, which made its world premiere in January this year at the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam, was screened at several film festivals across the world.
The film features 81-year-old actress Lolita Chatterjee as Jonaki, along with Jim Sarbh, and Ratnabali Bhattacharjee. Jonaki is a tale of an octogenarian woman, who searches for love in a strange world of decaying memories, while her lover, now old and grey, returns to a world she is leaving behind.
