CUDDALORE: The Cuddalore new town
police
have booked Tamil
actor
and choreographer
Gayathri Raghuram on charges of posting
objectionable comments
against
VCK
leader and Chidambaram MP Thol Thirumavalavan on her
social media
account.
Gayathri Raghuram had earlier accused VCK cadres of posting derogatory remarks about her secretary and harassing her by uploading her mobile number on various platforms. She allegedly made the objectionable comments on the VCK
leader
and the party cadres on her twitter account while condemning their activities.
A VCK functionary lodged a complaint against the actor with the Cuddalore new town police demanding immediate action against her. In his complaint, the functionary said the actor has posted comments urging people to assault the VCK leader wherever they see him. He accused her of attempting to disturb the law and order in Tamil Nadu by posting objectionable remarks about their leader.
Police booked Gayathri Raghuram under section 294-B (obscene acts and songs) and 505-B (with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the state or against the public tranquillity) of the Indian Penal Code and 67 of the Information Technology Act and began inquiries.
