PUDUCHERRY:
Pondicherry International Film Festival
director
Saibal Chatterjee, brand ambassador and actor
Adil Hussain and advisors
Utpal Borpujari and
Sanjay Sarma
withdrew their association with the second edition of the fest, scheduled for September 2019.
"The decision has been prompted by the operational inability of the current promoters to match the collective vision of the advisory in taking the festival forward in terms of scope, scale and stature, in a way that was originally envisaged," said a statement issued by them on a social networking site.
"The advisory team remains deeply committed to Pondicherry and its cinema lovers, and a new format that celebrates cinema and the arts will be announced shortly," they said.
Magic Hour Films chief executive officer and producer Samir Sarkar had ended his association with the festival earlier.
