Motihari: The body of a 20-year-old youth was found hanging in the sleeper coach (S-5) of the Raxaul–Delhi Satyagrah Express on Friday. The coach was parked in the washing pit at Raxaul railway station. A rope mark was visible on the neck, indicating the possibility of suicide or murder.
The train had arrived from Delhi on Thursday night and was stationed in the washing pit for cleaning. Railway workers spotted the body during a routine inspection on Friday as preparations were underway to send the train back to Delhi.
Pawan Kumar, SHO of Raxaul GRP, said that upon receiving information, the deputy superintendent of rail police conducted a thorough inspection. “An FSL team was also called to carry out a scientific investigation. The forensic report will help determine the time and cause of death. The body has been sent for postmortem to Motihari, and further legal formalities are underway,” he said.
