Youth shot at in Bhojpur, two arrested
In a rapid response, law enforcement in Bhojpur district detained two young men, Sudhir Singh and Deepak Singh, following a shooting incident that left 25-year-old Sujit Kumar critically injured outside his residence. The conflict escalated when Sujit denied Sudhir entry to his home.
Ara: Acting swiftly after a 25-year-old youth, Sujit Kumar, was shot outside his house in Keshavpur village under the Barhara police station area in Bhojpur district on Friday night, police on Saturday said they had arrested both the accused along with arms and ammunition. The victim sustained grievous injuries in the attack.SHO of Barhara police station, Ravikant, who led the raid to nab the accused, said on Saturday, “The police have arrested the main accused Sudhir Singh (19), son of one Mantu Singh of Keshavpur village and his accomplice Deepak Singh (20), a co-villager. The police have also seized the firearms used in the crime that included two country-made pistols, one live cartridge, one pellet and an empty cartridge from the possession of the arrested youths. The police have also seized a bike used in the case.”

Elaborating on the incident, the brother of the injured youth, Ajay Kumar Choudhary, said, “My brother Sujit Kumar was standing outside of our house on late Friday evening. Just then the son of Mantu Singh (the main accused Sudhir) appeared there and tried to forcibly enter our house. When Sujit forbade him, Sudhir slapped him, upon which my brother also slapped Sudhir who later came on a bike with his accomplice and shot at my brother.
According to police, the accused allegedly returned shortly after the initial altercation and opened fire at close range, leaving the victim critically injured before fleeing the scene. He was immediately rushed for treatment.Dr Vikash Singh, under whom the injured youth is undergoing treatment in Ara, said on Saturday, “The condition of the injured man who has sustained injuries in his back and face is serious. His blood pressure is also very high. He will be kept under observation for the next 72 hours.”
