Youth shoots girlfriend over marriage dispute

Patna: A youth shot his girlfriend outside a medical store near AIIMS-Patna in the Phulwarisharif police station area on Friday. The 18-year-old victim was rushed to the AIIMS trauma ICU with a gunshot wound in her leg.Police said the accused, Nakul Sharma, who owns the medical store, had a heated argument with the girl over their marriage plans. Nakul allegedly pulled out a pistol from his waist and shot her in the leg. The incident created panic in the area and the accused fled the spot.Phulwarisharif DSP Sushil Kumar Singh said, "Nakul and Aparna were in a relationship for several years but were arguing over their marriage plans. CCTV footage shows Nakul fleeing the spot after firing the shot. The girl's condition is stable. Police have deployed forces in the area to maintain law and order and are conducting raids to arrest Nakul."
