Youth rescued within 3 hrs of kidnapping in Madhubani

Madhubani: The Narhiya police of Madhubani district rescued a 21-year-old youth within three hours of his kidnapping on Saturday and arrested two suspects involved in the crime, SP Yogendra Kumar said on Sunday. The police also recovered seven live cartridges, two motorcycles and three mobile phones from the accused — Mukesh Kumar Yadav ( 21), a resident of Ghoghardeeha police station area in Madhubani district, and Raju Kumar (20) of Narhiya.Around 5am on May 24, the Narhiya police station received information about the kidnapping of one Naresh Kumar Bharti, a resident of Nadi area in Supaul district. The kidnappers had allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 20,000, threatening to kill the victim if the amount was not paid. Acting promptly, the Narhiya station house officer informed his seniors and launched a rescue operation, within three hours of which, they rescued the victim, a press release by the SP said.A case was registered at Narhiya police station under under Section 140(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 25(1-b)a, 26 and 35 of the Arms Act on May 24.Further investigation is underway in the matter, the press release added.
