Youth JD(U) neta dies in Purnia road accident

Patna: The district president of the youth wing of JD(U) died, while four others were injured in a road accident in Khagaria district early Friday morning. All of them were returning by car after attending a wedding ceremony on Thursday.The deceased was identified as Raju Mandal (29). He had gone to Khagaria to attend the wedding of his friend and student JD(U) functionary Sumit. While returning around 4am, a speeding truck rammed into his car near Satishnagar petrol pump in Pasraha police station area of Khagaria district. The impact was so severe that the car was badly damaged. Raju was travelling with Pintu Mehta and three others.Local police reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. Two of them were said to be in critical condition and were referred to a higher centre for better treatment.Raju had married two-and-a-half years ago and is survived by his wife and a daughter.Food and consumer protection minister Leshi Singh and former MP Santosh Kushwaha expressed grief over his demise on social media.
