Buxar: A 27-year-old youth was allegedly beaten to death at Naya Bhojpur village under the same police station of the district on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Builder Khan, son of late Maula Khan, a native of Naya Bhojpur village, was the youngest of seven brothers. He used to work as a loader in heavy vehicles.
The deceased's mother, Jeera Khatoon, told the police that some youths of the village took her son from the house on the false allegation of theft of Rs 15,000. They took him to a deserted place and brutally beat him to death, she said.
Jeera said when her son did not return home, she along with other villagers, started searching for her son. They later found him dead.
On receiving information about the incident, Dumraon SDPO Afaque Akhtar Ansari and Naya Bhojpur SHO Manish Kumar reached the spot. The police have collected blood samples and other evidence from the spot.
The body was sent to Buxar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. The SDPO said injury marks on the body suggested that Builder was murdered.
He said the accused are being identified based on the statement of the deceased's mother. Jeera has named about 10 people accused of the killing, including some people from the village.
