Woman tonsured, paraded in public
A 55-year-old woman, Besri Devi was tonsured and she was paraded at Balua Basanta village under the Lalganj police station.
Sources said that Laxman Rai caught Besri Devi while she was allegedly stealing banana tree from Rai's orchard at Balua Basanta village under Lalganj police station late on Friday night.
The orchard-owner along with his associates, Dinesh Rai and Ramprasad Rai took the woman to Lalita Devi's house where Besri Devi was kept for the whole night.
The sources said that on Saturday, the trio tonsured of the woman and paraded her in the entire village.
When contacted, SDPO, Sadar, Anil Kumar said that they have information about the incident.
He said that cops from Lalganj police station have reached the village to investigate the matter.
Body recovered: The Vaishali police on Sunday recovered the body of the priest of Khajbatta Math, Narsingh Das alias Sur Das, from a field at Khajbatta village. One of the deceased's disciples, Radhakant Sah alias Shyam Das, has been arrested.
