Woman tonsured for son's 'fault'
A 58-year-old woman, Kunti Devi (name changed), was allegedly stripped and paraded with her head tonsured at Hardayalpur village under the Mokama police station in Bihar.
Reason: her son fell in love and subsequently married an upper caste girl belonging to a financially well-off family.
While the Mokama police have denied that the woman was stripped and paraded in the village, they admitted to the fact that her head was tonsured.
However, villagers including Kunti's neighbours maintained that she was stripped and paraded in the locality by the in-laws of her son.
Patna SSP Kundan Krishnan said about six-seven women were involved in the incident of which two women have been detained for questioning.
