PATNA: A 37-year-old woman was shot dead on Mirza Road under Town police station in Muzaffarpur late on Tuesday night, the footage of which, captured on CCTV cameras, went viral on social media. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
According to sources, Sazida Amrin was returning from the clinic of a physiotherapist when two bike-borne criminals intercepted her and one of them shot her on head.
City SP Arvind Pratap Singh and Town ASP Awadhesh Dixit reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem at SKMCH.
The town ASP said the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the locality is being scrutinised. "The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the locality. It is clearly seen that a miscreant, wearing a helmet, is stalking the woman. Another is sitting on a bike in front of the woman. The miscreant wearing the helmet quickly goes behind the woman and shoots at the back of her head. After this the miscreants fled on the bike."
Police said the woman's husband lives in Dubai while she stayed at a rented house on Mirza Road with her mother-in-law. No one has been arrested so far in the case, the ASP added.
