Woman killed over land dispute in Banka

Patna: A 60-year-old woman was kiled over a land dispute at Chakroshan village under Rajaun police station in Banka district on Friday night. The elderly woman was attacked with a sharp weapon while was asleep at her home and died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Bindeshwari Devi. Initial probe points to a dispute over land partition. Three members of the family were taken into custody for questioning, police said.

Relatives said Bindeshwari had five sons, one of whom has already died. She had earlier distributed 3 kattha of land each among her sons but had kept 6 kattha with herself. The dispute was allegedly due to that property.

Rajaun SHO Rajratan said, “Police have detained the deceased’s son Gopal Yadav, the victim’s husband Sheru Yadav, and daughter-in-law Ruby Devi for questioning. Further investigation is underway.”
