Woman, daughter found murdered in Bihar's West Champaran
BAGAHA: A woman and her daughter were found murdered with their bodies half burned with acid in their house at Bagaha in West Champaran on Wednesday.
The woman, identified as Shobha Tiwari (40), lived with her daughter Khusbu Kumari (24) in Narayanpur ward number 3 under Pathkauli police outpost area as her husband Upendra Tiwari worked outside.
The matter came to light when Shobha's son Avinash Tiwari tried to talk to her mother over the phone Wednesday morning.
He also tried his sister's phone number but to no avail.
Avinash, who stays in Patna and prepares for competitive examinations, then called his maternal uncle Santosh Tiwari and asked him to visit his mother's house as she was not responding to his phone calls.
Bodies found lying with acid burn injuries
When Santosh, along with Shobha's neighbours, visited the house, he saw it locked from the outside and bloodstains on the locks. He then informed the police, who broke open the door and saw the bodies of Shobha and her daughter lying in a pool of blood with severe acid burn injuries. SP, Bagaha, Kiran Kumar Gorakh Jadav, who reached the spot with SDPO Kumar Devendra and other police officers, said the bodies were half-burned. A police team led by the SDPO has been formed to investigate the case, he said. A dog squad and forensic team were also called to help in the investigation.
"It seems the criminals first murdered both the women and then burned their bodies," police said after preliminary investigation.
