Waterlogging woes return to haunt K'garia

KHAGARIA: Widespread rain since Sunday has exposed the failure of the civic body and the district administration here as basic civic amenities like good roads, proper drainage system, safe drinking water supply and sanitation seem to be a distant dream for the residents.
"It is a common feature every year during the monsoon," rued Arti Mala Praksh, an employee of the local Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Khagaria.
In absence of a proper drainage system, waterlogging has also become a perennial problem. All underground and open drains are overflowing with filth.
