Wanted criminal arrested in East Champaran

Motihari: A special police team arrested Munna Pandey, one of the top 10 notorious criminals of East Champaran carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000, from Nepal border on Monday. He was remanded to judicial custody.
Munna, a resident of Babhnauli village under Gobindganj police station of the district, was wanted in the murder case of one Manish Kumar of Ghuswar village under Gobindganj police station area. Munna had been dodging police since last one year and had hid himself in Nepal after killing Manish.
SDPO, Areraj, Ranjan Kumar, had formed a special investigation team (SIT) to arrest Munna. Based on secret information, the SIT conducted raids at several places and finally arrested him on Monday.
Police sources said Munna had already served 14 years in jail in a murder case and many criminal cases were lodged against him in different police stations.
