however, the io got a tip-off that the "victim" was residing in the house of her parents' relative at hussaina under the guraul police station. subsequently, the vaishali police conducted raid at hussaina and recovered renu devi alive. incidentally, renu devi's was not an isolated case of its kind in the district. earlier, another woman, who was also claimed to have been killed for dowry at hajipur, was recovered alive from varanasi. besides, rampari devi of fakirpur under the mahnar police station was also recovered alive by the police though her brother had lodged an fir against nine persons, accusing them of murdering his sister for dowry. married to umesh singh, rampari was recovered alive by the police after two years of investigation last year, the police said, adding rampari devi had in fact eloped with her paramour and married him. but before the truth was revealed, the nine named accused in rampari devi murder case were arrested by the police. however, rampari devi, who opted for second marriage for mothering a child, honestly admitted before the police after she was recovered that no member of her first husband's family had either tortured or beaten her in the past. she said she had gone to live with her second husband at teghra in begusarai on her own. a couple of days ago, another woman, shajanha khatoon of mahua, claimed by her parents to have been killed for dowry by her in-laws, was recovered alive from the court premises. ironically, her husband is still in jail for "killing" her.
