Upadhyay new IAS body chief

PATNA: A K Upadhyay, a 1975 batch IAS officer and administrator of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) and Amitabh Verma, a 1982 batch IAS and co-operative secretary, have been elected unopposed as president and secretary respectively of Bihar chapter of IAS Association.

PATNA: A K Upadhyay, a 1975 batch IAS officer and administrator of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) and Amitabh Verma, a 1982 batch IAS and co-operative secretary, have been elected unopposed as president and secretary respectively of Bihar chapter of IAS Association.
The election of Upadhyay and Verma followed the resignation of Afzal Amanullah and Sudhir Kumar Rakesh from the posts of president and secretary respectively of IAS Association at its annual general meeting held on July 26.

Both Amanullah and Rakesh refused to withdraw their resignation despite repeated request from the association members. While Amanullah said that he had applied for central deputation, Rakesh resigned from his post on health grounds.
The name of seniormost member of the association, K A H Subrahmanyam could not be considered for the post of president by the members on health grounds while the second senior most IAS and member, board of revenue, N K Agrawal, reportedly expressed his unwillingness to hold the post. Subrahmanyam belongs to 1968 batch while Agrawal belongs to 1969 batch of IAS.
