Patna: Union home minister Amit Shah is set to visit Bihar on Sept 27, senior BJP leader and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said on Tuesday. This will be Shah’s second visit to the state within 10 days, as Bihar assembly elections are expected to be announced in the first week of Oct.
A day before Shah’s visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to transfer the first instalment of Rs 10,000 each directly into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on Sept 26. CM Nitish Kumar will be the chief guest at the virtual event.
During his visit, Shah will hold meetings with BJP leaders and workers in Araria, Saran and Vaishali and address party office-bearers from the surrounding districts.
The BJP has divided Bihar into five zones to plan its assembly election strategy. In his meetings at Dehri-on-Sone and Begusarai on Sept 18, Shah addressed leaders from 20 BJP organisational districts. In Dehri, he set a target to win 80% of seats in the Shahabad and Magadh regions, where the NDA had performed poorly in the 2020 assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
