Two drown in Ganga in Patna

PATNA: Two persons drowned while taking a bath in the Ganga at Triveni Sangam near Fatuha under the River police station area in Patna district on Saturday. The victims were identified as Ashutosh (35) and Jaiprakash (40). Their bodies were fished out from the river.

According to police, five friends had gone to the river to take a bath. "One of them, Shantanu Singh, started drowning. Ashutosh and Jaiprakash jumped into the river to rescue Shantanu. While Shantanu survived, Ashutosh and Jaiprakash were swept away by the strong current of the river," police added. The victims were residents of Kankarbagh in Patna.
