Two arrested for smuggling drugs

Madhubani: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans of the 48th Battalion, Jaynagar, arrested two people who were smuggling drugs across the Indo-Nepal border in Madhubani on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, the SSB jawans apprehended two motorcycle-borne people who were entering India from Nepal with narcotics. Besides 53 grams of brown sugar, packed in a polythene bag, Nepali currency worth Rs 17,700, and two cellphones were recovered from them.
The arrested individuals were identified as Manoj Kumar Das (35), son of Jiwachh Das, a resident of Betaunha village in Jaynagar police station areas, and Ravi Kumar (23), son of Rajendra Kumar, hailing from Jaynagar.
The suspects, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the Jaynagar police for investigation, said Amit Kumar, SHO, Jaynagar.
